Follow Up to Booster Meeting 9/8/09

Due to an update in progress to our web site (Siegelband.org), you may access band news at siegelband.blogspot.com until the update is complete.

A representative of the Rutherford County Election Commission presented a request for people to volunteer to work the polls at the elections next year. Volunteers would be paid which could be donated to the band. Contact Randy Caldwell for more information or if you would like to submit an application. He needs this completed before Sept. 24. E-mail Randy at rcaldwell@ragansmith.com.

We have reserved a block of rooms at the Renaissance Waverly Hotel in Atlanta on Oct. 17 for our overnight Contest Trip. Students will be charged $80 each to cover their room, transportation, and one meal. Parents may reserve a room at the flat rate of $90 per room. Parent reservations can be made by submitting a $90 check (payable to SHS Band) and given to directly Tim Bowling. Contact Tim at TBowling@HooverPaint.com.

There will be a short meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 29 at 6:00 p.m. to distribute information for our annual Fruit Sale. It is Very Helpful if everyone can attend so we can efficiently hand out the order packets and answer questions. Contact Carol at crozell@mtsu.edu.

Scrip order dates, and other updates week of 8/29

Band Photos: We are making band photos this year in uniform. We are starting this Friday night with brass and woodwinds. They will be taken in the hallway outside the band room starting at 5:10. Photographers will be set up and ready to go by 5:00 if you would like to arrive early. Every band member needs to have a photo taken. Percussion and Color guard will be done on October 16 starting at 4:30. All students will have individual and section photos made. These will appear in the yearbook. No personal photography is allowed during these sessions. You will be given the option of purchasing pictures, but you are NOT required to purchase any.

Scrip Orders: From Belinda Juergens - I will be doing Scrip orders on September 8, September 29, October 20, November 10, and December 1. I will place the last order before Christmas on December 11 (NOT the 14th as originally posted). I would like to encourage people to plan ahead for Christmas giving. Also, watch for a new Scrip order form on the website within the next week. Aeropostale has added to the list of local retailers participating. Contact me (juergensb@rcs.k12.tn.us) for more information. Also see our forms page for Scrip forms and information.

Booster Meeting Tuesday (9/8) at 6:00pm.
